The Motherly Comfort Home Care Program is Unlike Any Other

Staying home is not just a preference; for many Veterans and their families, it is everything. Through our exclusive Motherly Comfort Home Care, we help Veterans, or their surviving spouses, apply for a little-known Department of Veterans Affairs’ benefit to pay for assistance with activities of daily living so they can stay home safely and maintain their independence.

Maximize Aid & Attendance

We help our clients receive more from the benefit and qualify at a higher rate than if they complete the application on their own.

Start Care Right Away

By advancing the cost of care with our interest-free loan, care can begin while you wait for VA approval of the benefit application.

Securing Support

Since 2003, we have specialized in guiding families through the application for the VA pension with Aid and Attendance.

Find the Support You Need

At Veterans Home Care, we’re dedicated to helping Veterans who have proudly served their country and their surviving spouses, access the benefits they deserve.

The Motherly Comfort Home Care Program

Our Motherly Comfort Home care  Program provides access to in-home care to qualifying wartime Veterans and their surviving spouses, allowing them to remain in their homes.

From guiding you through the benefit application, to starting your home care right away by bridging the gap in benefits payments, and continuing support long after approval – the Motherly Comfort Home Care Program is with you every step of the way.

Aid & Attendance

A needs-based, VA pension paid to wartime Veterans with a non-service-connected disability, or their surviving spouses, who may require help with daily living.

Eligibility requirements in medical need, military service, and financial levels must be met to qualify for the VA pension with Aid & Attendance.

Widows and Widowers of Veterans.

The Aid and Attendance benefit is not just for wartime Veterans, though many surviving spouses are unaware that there is a VA Benefit that could help fund their in-home care.

Were you married to a wartime Veteran at the time of his/her death? If so, you may also be eligible for the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit.

Provider Partner Program

In-home care providers can help our Veterans and their surviving spouses by becoming a member of our nationwide network of home care agencies.

By connecting your clients with VA funding through the Motherly Comfort Home Care Program, your agency can provide the care and assistance with daily living activities they need — removing the financial barriers that might otherwise stand in the way.

The Motherly Home Care Mission in Action

Our mission was born from a personal promise — to ensure no Veteran or surviving spouse goes without the care they’ve earned and need.

Behind every application we assist with completing and every benefit we secure is a real person: a Veteran who served, a spouse who stood by their side, a family that needed someone to show them the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Motherly Comfort Home Care’s exclusive Program do?

The Motherlycomforthomecare Program assists Veterans and their surviving spouses who may qualify for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) “Pension with Aid and Attendance” benefit. We help them remain safely and comfortably in their own homes with personal care services.

Our team will assist the client and family with the entire application process, including assembling and filing paperwork, coordinating caregivers, and overseeing home care. Qualified applicants can begin home care almost immediately with no out of pocket costs.

Who is this VA benefit for?

The Aid and Attendance Pension (VA Non-Service-Connected Pension with Aid and Attendance) is available to Veterans with an honorable or general discharge who served at least 90 days of active duty, including at least one day during a wartime period, or to their surviving spouses.

Disabilities must not be service-related, and applicants must meet certain income and asset limits.

Why do I need Motherlycomfort Home Care? Can’t I file for the VA’s Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit myself?

You certainly can assemble the necessary paperwork, fill out the VA forms and file without our assistance. Be aware that even if you qualify, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) may not approve your claim and begin reimbursing your expenses for several months. Or, the VA may determine that you qualify for less than the maximum benefit.

Veterans Home Care has been assisting Veterans with applications to the VA since 2003. We know what documentation they require. We will help you to file the paperwork to receive the maximum possible benefit. With your permission, we also follow up with the VA on your behalf throughout the claim approval process. And, when you’re a VetAssist® Program client, you begin receiving care promptly after the application is filed, which you’re able to pay for thanks to an interest-free loan. This loan is a unique service of our VetAssist® Program; you simply reimburse us for those initial months’ expenses from your retroactive VA payment, once your claim is approved.

Even after you begin receiving your pension, we continue working for you – monitoring your care and helping you with ongoing paperwork the VA requires, so you continue to receive the maximum benefit.

What are the official wartime service dates?

World War II: December 7, 1941 – December 31, 1946

Korean Conflict: June 27, 1950 – January 31, 1955

Vietnam Era: Nov 1, 1955-May 7, 1975. Veterans that served after August 5, 1964 may have served outside the Republic of Vietnam.

Gulf War: August 2, 1990 – through a date yet to be determined (Gulf War Veterans must have served active duty for 2 years or the full period for which they were called to active duty.)”

How long does the application process take, and when can I start receiving home care?

VA processing times vary, typically ranging from 2 to 6 months. However, VetAssist® clients can begin home care services after submitting their paperwork, thanks to our interest-free loan that’s reimbursed later through their retroactive VA payment.

I don’t know if I qualify for Aid and Attendance. How do I find out?

Call us or complete our “Check Your Eligibility for the VetAssist Program” form. One of our intake specialists will ask you some preliminary questions to assess your qualifications for the benefit. It only takes a few minutes of your time to determine if the “Aid and Attendance” VA pension is for you.

What if I already have a service-connected disability rating?

Veterans who are receiving VA disability compensation generally cannot receive both Aid and Attendance and disability compensation at the same time. However, in some cases, you may qualify for whichever program provides the higher payment. The VA will determine this automatically when your claim is reviewed.

What happens if my claim is denied? (Can you promise my claim will be approved?)

If you have provided us with complete information and we have helped you fill out the applications, and the Department of Veterans Affairs has denied your claim due to your medical condition, you will not be held responsible to repay your loan.
